Amendment C232gben (Greater Bendigo)

The amendment implements the Strathfieldsaye Urban Design Framework, February 2017 and further implements the Strathfieldsaye Township Plan, revised March 2012 into the Greater Bendigo Planning Scheme by amending the Municipal Strategic Statement, inserting a new local area plan for Strathfieldsaye; deleting the Strathfieldsaye neighbourhood character local policy; making some zoning changes; applying Design and Development Overlays; and amending a Development Plan Overlay. The amendment also makes several zoning changes to implement the recommendations of the Greater Bendigo Public Space Plan, June 2019; inserts new provisions to help better manage on-site effluent disposal and urban-forest interface issues and corrects some zoning and overlay errors.

How to object or make a submission

Your next step if this rezoning affects you. Submissions are how the decision-maker hears from the community.

  1. 1 Rezonings happen through planning scheme amendments under the Planning and Environment Act 1987. The council exhibits the amendment and invites submissions.
  2. 2 Make a written submission to the council during the exhibition period, stating whether you support or oppose the amendment and why.
  3. 3 If unresolved submissions remain, they are referred to an independent planning panel, where submitters can be heard before the council decides.

General information about the public submission process, not legal advice. Confirm the current process and deadlines with the council or the official source before acting.
