Amendment C175 (Greater Bendigo)
A combined amendment/permit to facilitate the redvelopment of the Bendigo Airport, including a new runway and business park. The combined amendment proposes to make a number of rezoning and overlay map changes, amend Clauses 21.02, 21.04, 21.06, 21.07, 21.09 and 21.10 of the Municipal Strategic Statement to update councils policy position on the Bendigo Airport, insert new Schedules 14, 15 and 16 to Clause 43.02 to ensure a high standard of design and built form in the Bendigo Airport Business Park and ensure that the height of buildings and structures surrounding the airport do not impact on aircraft and operations, delete the existing Schedule 19 to Clause 43.04, insert a new Schedule 1 to Clause 45.02 to restrict land uses sensitive to aircraft noise, amend the Schedules to Clause 66.04 and 66.06 to insert new notice and referral requirements, and amend the Schedule to Clause 81.01 to include a new incorporated document. The permit proposes to construct a new north-south runway, taxiways, aprons and access lanes, access roads and infrastructure associated with a new business park, remove 19.7 hectares of native vegetation and lop 18.2 hectares of native vegetation, including patches and scattered trees, realign part of the Ellesmere-Goornong Channel and undertake other associated buildings and works.
