Amendment C028 (Murrindindi)
The amendment implements a rebuilding and recovery package for areas within the Shire of Murrindindi that were affected by the February 2009 bushfires through: Amending zoning to provide for additional public uses and developments. Making minor anomaly corrections to zoning and overlays applying to public and private land. The specific changes proposed as part of the amendment are: Kinglake: Rezone part of Lot 2 PS445377 from Farming Zone to Business 1 Zone. Rezone Bollygum Park from Low Density Residential Zone to Public Park and Recreation Zone. Kinglake Central: Rezone the Kinglake Memorial Reserve from Farming Zone to Public Park and Recreation Zone. Kinglake West: Include land on the southern side of National Park Road in the Restructure Overlay. Flowerdale: Rezone the Flowerdale Primary School from Rural Living Zone to Public Use Zone 2 (Education). Rezone the Flowerdale Recreation Reserve from Farming Zone to Public Park and Recreation Zone. Rezone land at 1986 Whittlesea - Yea Rd (Kinross Egg Farm) from Public Conservation and Resource Zone to Farming Zone. Narbethong: Rezone the existing CFA shed site at 628 Maroondah Highway from Public Conservation and Resource Zone to Public Use Zone 7 (Other public use). Rezone the land between the existing CFA shed / site and former Narbethong Hall site (being CA 13 E, Sec A., Parish of Granton) from Public Conservation and Resource Zone to Public Park and Recreation Zone. Rezone the former Narbethong Hall site at 606 Maroondah Highway from Farming Zone to Public Use Zone 6 (Local Government). Glenburn: Rezone 3813 Melba Highway (the former Glenburn Hotel site) from Farming Zone to Rural Activity Zone. Rezone 3871 Melba Highway (the CFA shed) from Farming Zone to Public Use Zone 7 (Other public use). Rezone 3873 Melba Highway (the Glenburn Primary School) from Farming Zone to Public Use Zone 6 (Local Government). Buxton: Rezone 2093 Maroondah Highway (the former Buxton roadhouse) from Rural Living Zone to Rural Activity Zone.
